This research focus on material design includes the development of new methods for the targeted production of inorganic and organic auxiliaries of selective thermal separation technology as the medium for extraction, membranes and adsorbents: The characterization of these materials with regard to material- and performance parameters and their use in thermal unit operations and the experimental determination of phase equilibria, kinetic parameters and fluid dynamic parameters constitute the focus of research. In addition modeling and simulation of unit operations in the overall thermal separation process as well as state-of-the-art material concepts with the objective of process intensification are being researched.
